Long Island Makers is an initiative of the Workforce & Education Work Group of the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council and was made possible through the support of the Workforce Development Institute, a statewide 501©3 non-profit that improves the lives of working men and women across New York State by providing targeted programs in workforce, economic, and community development. Goals of the branding effort are based on the Manufacturing Workforce Intelligence Study, which was funded by Empire State Development and implemented by Stony Brook University, in partnership with ADDAPT, SCCC and LIFT.
